subtle Jokes

1. The Old Nun:
An old nun who was living in a convent next to a construction site noticed the coarse language of the workers and decided to spend some time with them to correct their ways.

She decided she would take her lunch, sit with the workers and talk with them.

She put her sandwich in a brown bag and walked over to the spot where the men were eating. She walked up to the group and with a big smile said, "And do you men know Jesus Christ?"

They shook their heads and looked at each other very confused. One of the workers looked up into the steelworks and yelled out, "Anybody up there know Jesus Christ?"

One of the steel workers yelled down "Why?"

The worker yelled back, "Cos his wife's here with his lunch.

2. Burial in Jerusalem:
A man and his ever-nagging wife went on vacation in Jerusalem. While they were there, the wife passed away. The undertaker told the husband, "You can have her buried here in the Holy Land for $150 or we can have her shipped back home for $5000.

The husband thought about it and told the undertaker he would have her shipped back home. The undertaker asked him, "Why would you spend $5000 to have her shipped home when you could have a beautiful burial here, and it would only cost $150?"

the husband replied, "Long ago, I heard that a man died here, was buried here, and three days later, rose from the dead. I just can't take that chance!

3. 40 years of marriage:
A married couple in their early 60s was celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary in a quiet, romantic little restaurant..

Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on their table..

She said, 'For being such an exemplary married couple and for being loving to each other for all this time, I will grant you each a wish.

The wife answered, 'Oh, I want to travel around the world with my darling husband.

The fairy waved her magic wand and - poof! - two tickets for the Queen Mary II appeared in her hands.

The husband thought for a moment: 'Well, this is all very romantic, but an opportunity like this will never come again. I'm sorry my love, but my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger than me.

The wife, and the fairy, were deeply disappointed, but a wish is a wish. So the fairy waved her magic wand and poof!...the husband became 92 years old

Moral: Men who are ungrateful idiots should remember fairies are female.

5. Talking Parrot:
A woman went to a pet shop and immediately spotted a large, beautiful parrot. There was a sign on the cage that said $50.

"Why so little?" she asked the pet store owner.

The owner looked at her and said, "Look, I should tell you first that this bird used to live in a house of prostitution, and sometimes it says some pretty vulgar stuff."

The woman thought about this, but decided she had to have the bird anyway. She took it home and hung the bird's cage up in her living room and waited for it to say something.

The bird looked around the room, then at her, and said,"New house, new madam."

The woman was a bit shocked at the implication, but then thought "that's really not so bad."

When her two teenage daughters returned from school, the bird saw them and said, "New house, new madam, new girls."

The girls and the woman were a bit offended but then began to laugh about the situation considering how and where the parrot had been raised.

Moments later, the woman's husband Keith came home from work.

The bird looked at him and said, "Hi John."

... Then the fight started!

6. The Deaf Bookkeeper:
A Mafia Godfather finds out that his bookkeeper, Enzo, has cheated him out of 10 million bucks. His bookkeeper is deaf. That was the reason he got the job in the first place. It was assumed that Enzo would hear nothing that he might have to testify about in court.

When the Godfather goes to confront Enzo about his missing $10 million, he takes along his lawyer who knows sign language.

The Godfather tells the lawyer, "Ask him where the 10 million bucks are, that he embezzled from me."

The lawyer, using sign language, asks Enzo where the money is. Enzo signs back, "I don't know what you are talking about."

The lawyer tells the Godfather, "He says he doesn't know what you are talking about."

The Godfather pulls out a pistol, puts it to Enzo's temple and says, "Ask him again!"

The lawyer signs to Enzo, "He'll kill you if you don't tell him."

Enzo signs back, "OK. You win! The money is in a brown briefcase, buried behind the shed in my cousin Bruno's backyard in Woodbridge!"

The Godfather asks the lawyer, "What did he say?"

The lawyer replies, "He says you don't have the guts to pull the trigger."

7. Party Crashers:
The host at a party was getting worried because there were too many people and not enough refreshments.

She was sure that not all of these people had been invited but didn't know how to tell which ones were the crashers. Then her husband got an idea.

He turned to the crowd of guests and said "Will those who are from the bride's side of the family stand up please?" About twenty people stood.

Then he asked "Will those who are from the groom's side of the family stand up as well?" About twenty-five people stood up.

Then he smiled and said, "Will all those who stood please leave. This is a birthday party!

Date with a Woman

DATE WITH A WOMAN

After 21 years of Marriage, my Wife wanted me to take another Woman out to Dinner and a Movie.

She said I Love You but I know this other Woman loves you and would Love to spend some Time with You.

The other Woman that my Wife wanted me to visit was my MOTHER,

who has been a Widow for 19 years,

but the demands of my Work and my three Children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally.

That night I called to Invite her to go out for Dinner and a Movie.

'What's wrong, are you well,' she asked?

My Mother is the type of Woman who suspects that

a Late Night Call or a Surprise Invitation is a sign of Bad News.

'I thought that it would be pleasant to be with you,' I responded.

'Just the two of us.'

She thought about it for a moment, and then said, 'I would like that very much.'

That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up I was a bit Nervous.
When I arrived at her House, I noticed that she too seemed to be Nervous about our Date.

She waited in the Door with her Coat on.

She had Curled her Hair and was wearing the Dress that she had worn to Celebrate her last Wedding Anniversary.

She smiled from a face that was as Radiant as an Angel's.

'I told my Friends that I was going to go out with My Son, and they were impressed, '

She said, as she got into the Car.

'They can't wait to hear about our meeting'.

We went to a Restaurant that, although not Elegant, was very Nice and Cozy.

My Mother took my Arm as if She were the First Lady.

After we sat down, I had to read the Menu. Large Print.

Half way through the entries, I lifted my eyes and saw Mom sitting there staring at me.

A Nostalgic Smile was on her Lips.

'It was I who used to have to Read the Menu when you were Small,'

She said.

'Then it's Time that you Relax and let me Return the Favor,'

I responded.

During the Dinner, we had an Agreeable Conversation, nothing Extra-ordinary,

but catching up on recent Events of each others Life.

We talked so much that we missed the Movie.

As we arrived at her House later,

She said, 'I'll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you.'

I agreed.

'How was your Dinner Date?' asked My Wife when I got Home.

'Very Nice. Much more so than I could have Imagined,' I answered.

A few days later, my Mother died of a Massive Heart Attack.

It happened so suddenly that I didn't have Time to do anything for her.
Some time later, I received an Envelope with a Copy of a Restaurant Receipt

from the same place Mother and I had dined.

An Attached Note Said:

'I paid this Bill in Advance.

I wasn't sure that I could be there;

But nevertheless, I paid for Two Plates –

One for You and the Other for Your Wife.

You will never know what that Night meant for Me.
I Love You,

My Son.'

At that moment, I understood the Importance of saying in Time:

'I LOVE YOU!'

and to give our Loved Ones the Time that they Deserve.

Nothing in Life is more important than God and your Family.

Give them the Time they Deserve, because these Things cannot be Put Off till 'Some Other Time.'

Waiting Concept.

One of the most beautiful aspects of human nature is our ability to wait for something. We are always waiting for something or other. Waiting, however, is not to be seen as a distasteful activity; you must know how to wait. There are different ways of waiting and different reasons for waiting. When we do not know how to live in the present and are always waiting, it is a reflection of our lazy nature. The lazier you are, the more unconscious of yourself you are, the more you live on the surface, in the outward appearance and with your surface nature, and you tend to simply wait.

This is inertia. In this inertia we always wait for something to change hoping that somebody will come and give us what we desire. Human nature is like that. If you observe yourself, you will see that life is always knocking on your door, every day, every minute. It is telling you to change. But you have no courage to change; you are waiting for change to happen. You just won’t be the change you want. We all want peace, harmony and happiness. But how many actually work towards achieving these?Nature is often at the receiving end – human activity gives rise to exploitation of resources and pollution, for instance.

Nature wants you to change, but you don’t. You are waiting (for what?) and when things get out of hand, disasters might take place. Call them natural or human made; the fact is that the environment has its threshold and one day, we are faced with a challenging situation. Sometimes it takes us by complete surprise; it comes as a shock. Catastrophes happen and we are not entirely prepared to face the consequences. However, sometimes we learn from these catastrophes and even take steps to bring about change – in ourselves and the environment.

The day you understand that you have to cooperate, collaborate, exercise patience and feel connected, that day becomes the beginning of a new way of life. If you do not have patience and do not co-operate but cry and complain, nothing much will happen except that you will allow nature to use a bigger and more powerful hammer to knock you awake. Waiting is good but if you know how to wait. The Mother of Aurobindo Ashram said that when you know how to wait you put time by your side; time comes with you.

Learn how to wait with patience and in silence. Generally, when we wait we do so full of nervous energy and tension, we are out of balance. When we are waiting we have no patience in that waiting. The difference between waiting for change and waiting with patience is that in the latter you have done what is expected of you. You have done your duty. Then one can wait with patience and put time by one’s side. That can give you better and faster possibilities in life. That way time becomes your partner and helps you to reach the desired result

Habits or Swabhava.

You have given few details about habits. In my view, Habits are to be considered as an attire to the self. Be aware and be convinced that this is only an attire.

It is very difficult to say a status " living without an habit" but you can always say "living without clinging to an habit."

The cycle of habit begins with a deep Interset ---emerges as desire --- pursue into Hobby --- regular practise --- trend as Habits --- part of the Charecter -- and finally culminates to VASANA - essence of it carried to even next birth.

Just by reading a advaita book and to say One should go beyond habits will create utter confusion and no clarity as well no solution also in that.

In my humble view, YAMAs and NIYAMAs are fundas. One should get real mastery over Observences and Prohibitions as laid down by shastras. Then other practises can be pursued.

Each one of us have our own beatiful peacock feather, allow it to spread and enjoy the joy and impart the delightness to others also but imitation will not work.

No habits means - " not without any habits" other words, No identity or clinging to the habits. If you deny this then there cannot be any vyavahara in the creation.

I Have Learned.....

I Have learned....

I have learned.....That the easiest way for me to grow as a person is to surround myself with people smarter than I am.

I have learned.... That everyone you meet deserves to be greeted with a smile.

I have learned.... That Love (alone) not Time heals all wounds.

I have learned .. That no one is perfect until you fall in love with them

I have learned....That life is tough, but i am tougher.

I have learned....That opportunities are never lost; someone will take the ones you miss.

I have learned that when you harbor bitterness, happiness will dock elsewhere.

I have learned...That one should keep one's words both sift and tender, because he may have to eat them.

I have learned... That a smile is an inexpensive way to improve your looks.

I have learned... That Everyone wants to live on top of the mountain but all the happiness and growth occurs while you are climbing it.

I have learned... The best classroom in the world is at the feet of an elderly person.

I have learned... That just one person saying to me "you have made my day" makes my day.

I have learned... That being kind is more important than being right.

I have learned... That you should never say no to a gift from a child.

I have learned... That the Lord did not do it all in one day. What makes me think I can?

I have learned... That under everyone's hard shell is someone who wants to be appreciated and loved.

I have learned... That it is those small daily happenings that make life so spectacular

I have learned... That money does not buy class.

I have learned... That we should be glad God does not give us everything we ask for.

I have learned... That simple walks with my father around the block on summer nights when i was a child did wonders for me as an adult

I have learned... That sometimes all a person needs is a hand to hold and a heart to understand.

I have learned....That no matter how serious your life requires you to be, everyone needs a friend to act goofy with.

Sun is Go(o)d for our Health.

Sun Is Good for Our Health:10 Reasons

Even the Stone Age people knew the Sun brought life on Earth and that
is why they used to worship it. But the sun waves can heal and destroy,
they can be the kiss of life or death. It depends on the way we use
them.

1. The sunlight kills microbes. That's why it is important to put out
in the sun carpets, blankets and eiderdowns that cannot be washed
regularly. Exposure to the sun confers the skin a bright, healthy look
and increased elasticity.

A moderately tanned skin is more resistant to infections and sun
burning than an untanned one. Many skin diseases (dermatitis) can be
controlled and even cured through controlled exposure to the sun.

The sun rays are proven to strengthen the immune system.

2. Due to the sun our mood and morals improve. Sunlight helps in cases
of chronic or acute depression, by stimulating the synthesis of
endorphins (good-feeling hormones). That's why we get depressed in the
cold and dark days of the winter.

3. The sun is good against insomnia. Daytime exposure to sunlight
increases the melatonin production during the night. This hormone helps
regulate the sleep.

4. Under the action of the sunlight, the skin synthesizes vitamin D,
which makes possible calcium absorption in the intestine, helping the
organism grow strong bones. This way the sun prevents rachitism in both
children and adults and osteoporosis in elders.

5. As vitamin D and some related compounds impede the development of
some cancer cells, we can say the sun fights off this disease. Regular
and controlled exposure to the sun has a preventive effect against
cancer of colon, breast, leukemia and lymphomas.

6. Exposure to the sun strengthens the cardiovascular system. Blood
circulation is improved, the pulse, arterial pressure, moderately high
hypoglycemia and cholesterol levels can be normalized.

7. Sun rays improve liver functioning, being effective in treating
jaundice.

8. They help the kidneys with a part of their job, as the sun waves
favor the elimination of waste products through the skin, when we sweat.

9. The sun also helps losing weight by increasing the metabolic rate
through the stimulation of the thyroid. It also eases symptoms of
premenstrual syndrome.

10. The sun rays also ease the healing of the swollen joints during
peaks of inflammation in cases of arthritis.

The Karma of Forwarding E mails

The Karma of Forwarding Emails

Bhagvad Gita – Adhyay 19

Arjun: Hey Vasudeva, how can I do the most heinous and unpardonable act of forwarding e mails that I receive, to my friends, relatives and revered elders?

Krishna: Paartha, at this moment, none of them is your friend or foe, relative or in-law, young or old and good or evil. You have no escape from following your Net-Dharma. Make haste to log on and send off the email to one and all. That is the only Karma expected of you and Dharma you must follow.

Arjun: Hey Murari! Do not implore me to do something that pricks my conscience and stirs my soul.

Krishna: Oh Kunti-Putra, you are caught in the vicious circle of Maya. In this material world, you are committed to no one except to yourself, your Dharma and your computer mouse. E mails have existed for the last 25 years and will remain long after you also. Rise above the Maya and perform your bounden duty.

Arjun: Lord Krishna, pray and enlighten me on how email is related to Maya.

Krishna: Vatsa, email is the 6th element in the universe – Aap, Vaayu, Jal, Agni, Aakaash and email. It is at the same time animate and inanimate, living and dead beat. It overloads the system and fills up the hard disk. But it serves one great purpose. It leads people to believe that they are filling their time in an intellectual pursuit by reading and re-forwarding mail. It gives them a sense of achievement without investing their intellect and efforts. Like the Atman that leaves one’s physical body and moves on to another, the email moves from system to system and never gets deleted or dies.

Arjun: Great Giridhaari, kindly tell me what the true attributes of email are.

Krishna: Neither fire can burn it, nor air can evaporate it. Neither can it be conquered nor can it be defeated. Email is omnipresent and immortal like your noble and eternal soul. Unlike an arrow shot from your bow, many a time the email forwarded by you, will even return to you safely after some months or even years, allowing you to re-re-forward it to the same people.

Arjun: Great Saarathi, my salutations to you. You have opened my eyes to the cult of email. I was lost in the Maya and have been reading all the email that I keep receiving and doing no other Karma. Now on, I will just press the "Forward" button without reading any of it and send it to all and sundry, friends and foes, relatives and in-laws, young and old. That will surely bring them to their knees in this epochal battle of Good against Evil, in the Kurukshetra.

Krishna: Arjuna, victory or defeat is not in your hands. Do not ponder over the fruits of your labour. Just keep forwarding email and make one and all go bananas reading it and you will have done your supreme duty. Tathastu.

Eating Fruits

EATING FRUIT...

It's long but very informative

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. It's not as easy as you think. It's important to know how and when to eat.

What is the correct way of eating fruits?

IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS! * FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.

FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD. Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so.

In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil....

So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining every time I eat watermelon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet, etc. actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat!

Graying hair, balding, nervous outburst, and dark circles under the eyes all these will NOT happen if you take fruits on an empty stomach.

There is no such thing as some fruits, like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight.

When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT from the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all. You only get to taste. Cooking destroys all the vitamins.

But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it. You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

KIWI: Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin E & fiber. Its vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

APPLE: An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.

STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessel-clogging free radicals.

ORANGE : Sweetest medicine. Taking 2-4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON: Coolest thirst quencher. Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. They are also a key source of lycopene the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are vitamin C & Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA: Top awards for vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high vitamin C content.. Guava is also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation. Papaya is rich in carotene; this is good for your eyes.

Drinking Cold water after a meal = Cancer! Can u believe this?? For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion... Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer. It is best to drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

A serious note about heart attacks HEART ATTACK PROCEDURE': (THIS IS NOT A JOKE!) Women should know that not every heart attack symptom is going to be the left arm hurting. Be aware of intense pain in the jaw line. You may never have the first chest pain during the course of a heart attack. Nausea and intense sweating are also common symptoms. Sixty percent of people who have a heart attack while they are asleep do not wake up. Pain in the jaw can wake you from a sound sleep. Let's be careful and be aware. The more we know the better chance we could survive.

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this mail sends it to 10 people, you can be sure that we'll save at least one life.

Read this....It could save your life!!

You are an employee

One day while walking down the street a highly successful
Human Resources Manager was tragically hit by a bus and she died. Her soul
arrived up in heaven where she was met at the Pearly Gates by St. Peter himself.

"Welcome to Heaven," said St. Peter. "Before you get settled in though, it seems
we have a problem. You see, strangely enough, we've never once had a Human
Resources Manager make it this far and we're not really sure what to do with
you."

"No problem, just let me in," said the woman.

"Well, I'd like to, but I have higher orders. What we're going to do is let you
have a day in Hell and a day in Heaven and then you can choose whichever one you
want to spend an eternity in."

"Actually, I think I've made up my mind, I prefer to stay in Heaven", said the
woman

"Sorry, we have rules..."

And with that St. Peter put the executive in an elevator and it went
down-down-down to hell.

The doors opened and she found herself stepping out onto the putting green of a
beautiful golf course. In the distance was a country club and standing in front
of her were all her friends - fellow executives that she had worked with and
they were well dressed in evening gowns and cheering for her. They ran up and
kissed her on both cheeks and they talked about old times. They played an
excellent round of golf and at night went to the country club where she enjoyed
an excellent steak and lobster dinner.

She met the Devil who was actually a really nice guy (kind
of cute) and she had a great time telling jokes and dancing. She was having such
a good time that before she knew it, it was time to leave. Everybody shook her
hand and waved goodbye as she got on the elevator.

The elevator went up-up-up and opened back up at the Pearly Gates and found St.
Peter waiting for her.

"Now it's time to spend a day in heaven," he said. So she spent the next 24
hours lounging around on clouds and playing the harp and singing. She had great
time and before she knew it her 24 hours were up and St. Peter came and got her.

"So, you've spent a day in hell and you've spent a day in heaven. Now you must
choose your eternity,"

The woman paused for a second and then replied, "Well, I never thought I'd say
this, I mean, Heaven has been really great and all, but I think I had a better
time in Hell."

So St. Peter escorted her to the elevator and again she went down-down-down back
to Hell.

When the doors of the elevator opened she found herself standing in a desolate
wasteland covered in garbage and filth. She saw her friends were dressed in rags
and were picking up the garbage and putting it in sacks.

The Devil came up to her and put his arm around her.

"I don't understand," stammered the woman, "yesterday I was here and there was a
golf course and a country club and we ate lobster and we danced and had a great
time. Now all there is a wasteland of garbage and all my friends look
miserable."

The Devil looked at her smiled and told...

One day in a school in London, a teacher said to a class of 5-year-olds…

I'll give 10 pounds to the child who can tell me who was the most famous man who ever lived."

An Irish boy put his hand up and said, "It was St. Patrick."

The teacher said, "Sorry Paddy, that's not correct."

Then a Scottish boy put his hand up and said, "It was St. Andrew."

The teacher replied, "I'm sorry, Hamish, that's not right either."

Then a Jewish boy put his hand up and said "David",

The Buddhist boy said "Gautama Buddha" and the Muslim boy said "Mohammed".

They all were not successful.

Finally, a Gujju boy raised his hand and said, "It was Jesus Christ."

The teacher said, "That's absolutely right, Jignesh, come up here and I'll give you the 10 pounds that I promised."

As the teacher was giving Jignesh his money, she said, "You know Jignesh, since you're a Hindu Gujarati; I was very surprised you said Jesus Christ."

Jignesh replied, "Yes. In my heart I knew it was Krishna, but Bijness is Bijness!!!!!!

Moral: Talk the language which listener (Customer) wants, not that which you know.
